Date Night

wootz! 1x hilarious movie. it's the first time Gene had to look away from the screen... but not bcos it's scary, it's just so funny he had to look away to stop himself. we laughed so hard that we had headaches, perhaps there's an area of the brain that got overworked from all the laughing. frontal cortex (?) it seems for both of us.

apart from all the laughter, the movie goes into some marriage topics also. how the couple connects. how the guy reads the book the gal likes tho she confesses at the end of the movie that she's only read the first 30 pages and the last page. how the gal doesn't trust the guys to plan and do things, does everythg then hits back at the guy that she's so tired.

(thinking abt the parallel triplehorn+gal couple now still makes me wanna laugh :D)

the concept of date night sounds very sweeeeeet to me. get a babysitter to take care of the kids, the couple gets to have us time. the babysitter can be neighbours or cousins. build their relationships while the couple builds theirs :):)

the movie challenged the idea of "the spouse is just like a best roomate... that's it" and "just hitting the same restaurant and ordering the same items everytime". actually i think that would be really sweeet. it's not even just things i could live with, but that's probably how my dream life would turn out. why would u not want to marry the best roomate? someone who knows all ur quirks. as for the restaurants, i don't understand why ppl keep wanting to try new places when i already found places i love. yea, there's the thing abt maybe there's a restaurant that u'd love more. but i've already found wad i love. before that i didn't love, so it's not a matter of rankings or substitutions so there's no need to go on seeking anymore. din tai fung and pepper lunch. loveloves. and we know, the greatest love will never change, potatoes!

so i think it's quite sad if ppl start questioning their relationship and thinks that marrying the best roomate is boring and another exciting person comes along and u just get pulled along. that shouldn't be the way. i've gone down this road before and it's just a dead end in my case. lost the best. gotta stop the looney.
