Requests & Promises

Was teaching Sunday school and showed the kids the flower to be used as prop for the caroling skit - yea, the purple flower from muh tian :) the kids loved it. but there's only one at that time... so i promised them i would definitely bring one for each of them the following week. all except wei en had that disbelieving/don't understand look. i asked them if they believed that i would bring one for each of them next week? wei en said he believed me... the rest kept quiet. i repeated my promise and asked them again... this time more believed... though i've been just saying the same thing. and i know i would do just that - a flower for each of them as i've promised.

i wonder if this is the same with Jesus... that he has promised us, and he will do it... but sometimes somehow in our circumstances we don't see it/can't believe it... but you know what? He will still do it nonetheless. He still calls out to us and wants to fulfil our deepest need of companionship with God.

Jesus says, in John 14,
Let not your heart be troubled: have faith in God and have faith in me.
In my Father's house are rooms enough; if it was not so, would I have said that I am going to make ready a place for you?
And if I go and make ready a place for you, I will come back again and will take you to be with me, so that you may be where I am.
And you all have knowledge of where I am going, and of the way to it.

Jesus says unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me.
He who puts his faith in me will do the very works which I do, and he will do greater things than these, because I am going to my Father.
And whatever request you make in my name, that I will do, so that the Father may have glory in the Son.
If you make any request to me in my name, I will do it.

finally translated ripped off the Chinese Bible for the caroling skit~! Phews. Can't wait for the world to be speaking one language. I hate things. Makes me stress at work. Keep consciously stopping myself from editing the caroling skit at work cos that's just so wrong and irresponsible.

yet, i'm still excited. all the more excited after first cut on sunday :) faith is rising... the youths are rising :):)
